My Dad went on a fishing trip last week on the Umpqua River. When he came home he threw a big, black trashbag on the kitchen counter and called the girls to come see what he had caught. Nana immediately had visions of blood and guts all over her kitchen and shooed them outside to show off and clean the fish. He had caught a Steelhead that was the size of Lauryn!
I took the girls down yesterday to a beautiful park at the river's edge. We saw a little snake, collected freshwater mussel shells, threw rocks, dug in the sand and wore ourselves out having a great, ol' time. But we decided that what we really need to do is go dig the girl's fishing poles that they've never gotten to use out of storage and see if we can go back and catch some fish of our own!
